At TI, System Engineers work to identify ideal roadmap opportunities for a business and are responsible for defining new products and platforms based on market opportunity. To do this, they leverage strong technical knowledge of our existing portfolio, deep understanding of the technologies, standards and protocols within an industry or end equipment, and an ability to engage with customers and translate their requirements into technical specifications that will solve their problems. Systems engineers also partner closely with marketing and applications engineers, as well as design teams, to ensure our roadmap is both meeting customer and market requirements and is technically optimized and manufacturable at a price and cost point that makes sense for the business. The CTS (Clock and Timing Solutions) product line focuses on developing state-of-the-art, high-performance clocking and RF products. Our investment portfolio includes DPLL Network Synchronizers, Clock Buffers, Clock Generators, Oscillators, RF synthesizers, PLLs, and buffers. Our vision is to create the most comprehensive and innovative portfolio to solve all clocking needs in markets such as Wireless, Wired Communication, Enterprise, and Industrial applications. We are seeking a qualified candidate for a Systems/Applications Engineering role focused on our RF product families. This position features an equal split between systems and applications work and is based in Santa Clara, CA. The successful candidate will report to the CTS Systems Manager. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in applications and markets requiring high-performance clocking. System-level knowledge of wireless infrastructure, aerospace and defense, and test and measurement systems is highly desirable. This hands-on role involves testing and validating products in laboratory environments. Qualifications Minimum requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering • 4+ years of relevant experience in PLL and clocking products design, applications support, or systems • Strong understanding of analog/mixed-signal ICs and their applications • Experience promoting/marketing ICs and driving design wins by providing system solutions • Strong customer-facing skills and ability to maintain customer relationships • Proficiency with lab equipment and RF test equipment • System-level circuit modeling with EDA tools, SPICE, and MATLAB • Board-level RF/digital circuit design experience • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Basic software skills in major programming languages (C/C++, VB, Python, C#, etc.) • Ability to create schematics using Altium or similar CAD programs • US citizenship or US green card (US national) required Preferred Qualifications • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering • PLL and clocking background with enterprise and communications market understanding • Experience with high-speed clocking and RF systems and circuits • Experience in relevant market segments (Telecommunications, Aerospace and Defense, Test and Measurement, Medical) • Board-level bring-up, debug, and test experience in RF hardware • PCB design experience with parasitic analysis • Advanced software skills in Python or equivalent programming language • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams • Strong time management skills enabling on-time project delivery • Experience establishing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders Key Competencies • Highly motivated and passionate individual, comfortable delivering to deadlines in fast-paced environments • Customer-focused mindset with commitment to providing timely support • Ability to quickly ramp up on new systems and processes • Initiative-taking approach with strong drive for results • Expertise with common engineering equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators, VNAs, and signal analyzers Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
