Role Overview
Electronic Arts is looking for a hands-on Enterprise Architect to help shape the next generation of EA's technology landscape.As an Enterprise Architect, you will be reporting to the Director of Enterprise Architecture. You will work as an individual contributor.
Responsibilities
Enterprise & Platform Architecture
• Define and maintain EA's enterprise architecture standards, reference architectures and technology roadmaps.
• Lead architecture for hybrid cloud platforms ensuring understanding to EA's scalability, performance and security requirements.
• Increase adoption of cloud-native patterns including microservices, APIs, service mesh, event-driven design and container-based workloads.
OpenShift & Cloud-Native Engineering
• You will be EA's SME for OpenShift Virtualization and Kubernetes platform architecture, governance and workload patterns.
• Define deployment strategies supporting global scale for game dev enivornment.
• Guide platform enhancements including operators, networking, storage, security controls and developer experience.
Hands-On Technical Execution
• Develop and publish engineering patterns, reusable frameworks and reference implementations.
• Contribute to proof-of-concepts and solution prototypes in languages such as Go, Java, or Python.
• Provide architectural oversight for complex systems ensuring resiliency, observability and operational readiness.
• Establish standards for IaC using Terraform, Helm, GitOps and CI/CD.
• Lead modernization of provisioning, configuration and deployment pipelines to ensure consistency, traceability and velocity.
• Implement automation-first approaches for configuration, compliance and operations.
• Embed security-by-design across architectures working with EA Security teams.
• Promote best practices in observability, DevOps, SRE.
• Partner with engineering teams, studios and platform groups to ensure architectural alignment and technical clarity.
• Conduct design reviews, mentor engineering teams and provide executive-level architectural guidance.
• Contribute to EA's long-term technology evolution by evaluating emerging standards, tools and cloud services.
Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, platform engineering and software engineering.
• Expertise with OpenShift and enterprise Kubernetes platforms.
• Hands-on coding experience (Go, Java, Python, or comparable).
• Experience designing large-scale, distributed cloud-native systems.
• Deep experience with IaC (Terraform, Helm, Ansible, GitOps) and CI/CD frameworks.
• Hybrid cloud architecture experience across AWS, Azure or GCP combined with on-premises environments.
• Foundation in networking, security models, API architecture and integration frameworks.
• Experience with service mesh, operator design, API gateways and event-driven architectures.
• Background in observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK) and SRE practices.
• Experience supporting large-scale consumer or gaming platforms.
• Certifications: RHCA, RHOCP and Kubernetes certs (CKA, CKAD, CKS).

Compensation And Benefits
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.
For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
